Section 523 Self-Help Grants to be Partially Funded Again in FY 2008
In fiscal year (FY) 2008, as was the case in FY 2007, available funding for the Section 523 Mutual Self-Help Technical Assistance Grants program is not sufficient to renew expiring grants. Therefore, USDA Rural Development (RD) has announced that it will again fund performing grantees at 60 percent of their previous grant amounts. In 2007, RD did consider new grant requests, but in 2008 it will not.
RD announced this policy in an Unnumbered Letter (UL) dated January 30, 2008.
