The Louisiana Citizen Awareness and Disaster Evacuation Guide, a six page PDF brochure, provides shelter information during hurricane evacuations, telephone numbers to obtain road closure information, family disaster supply kit list, radio stations that broadcast emergency information, telephone numbers for American Red Cross chapters in the hurricane evacuation areas, and weather terms. The Enterprise Corporation of the Delta (ECD) has set up a Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund for anyone willing and able to make a contribution to help the region recover. ECD will coordinate its lending and relief efforts with the Red Cross, state and municipal governments, CDFIs, and others. To make a contribution, please send your check to:

American Red Cross of Central Mississippi is hosting a reception site in the Madison Wal-Mart parking lot, off the Madison exit on Interstate 55. Evacuees can go to the reception site for information about where shelters are located.

Please bring necessary items for your family with you if you go to a public shelter.

Items should include:

Food, water, clothing, bedding and all necessary medications for your family members. Also bring any personal items you will need. Please bring enough items for at least three days.
